A little update for 2026

You’re probably used to this by now, but things are running behind my projections. The new Atrophy book is finished, but I feel better when there’s an extra layer of quality checking that it’s waiting on. I still expect it to be ready this year, hopefully not too late.

A new Admiral book is planned and outlined, although I’m toying with the idea of just releasing it here on a set schedule, kind of like we did with Logos—that would probably cut down the wait time for it considerably. Not that I expect a lot of people to be super impatient or anything; it’s remarkable that anybody’s stuck with such a long series at all, and it means a lot that people have. I don’t want to respond to that goodwill by making them wait more than two years between books. But that’s just an idea, and one way or another, I would like there to be new Admiral content in 2027. This may be notable because while Clear Sky and Shapeshifter take place within the Admiral series, they aren’t really Admiral books; they’re Tessa books. The next one will have the Admiral back as the lead. More than that, much like this new Atrophy book, I plan to get some things out in the open. The series has been mysterious and cryptic for long enough. It’s time to actually get into all the stuff we’ve been hinting at and dancing around.

I wish I had better news, but thank you to everyone who’s following the Admiral and friends. It continues to surprise me that folks are still reading these and leaving nice reviews, and it never stops brightening my day. I really appreciate it.
